Local 6th Form celebrates with Ex Students Success

Last night at St Marys College, the class of 2015 gathered to receive their awards at the annual 6th form presentation. Every student of 2015 was invited along with their friends and family.

This gave ex students the chance to catch up with their old friends and teaching staff and allowing them to celebrate over a glass of wine and a mince pie.
Phil Kelly, head of the 6th form stated “I am really proud of all of the ex students want to congratulate them all on achieving the excellent set of results attained in the summer”
The presentation night overall was extremely successful having a large percentage of old students making an appearance, along with their loved ones.
A lucky 5 students were chosen to win a additional award based upon their hard work whilst attending the college. The award was £100.
One of the students chosen wasn’t able to make the presentation night however, when she heard the news she was so happy.
“Lovely surprise phone call from @MattWin96 to tell me @SM6Hull have awarded me £100 for my hard work throughout sixth form! Thank you!”
Media teacher, Tim stated ‘she really deserved it as did the other winners, Rosie always tried hard and put in the effort’
Lauren Gilby, who is an ex student spoke about her grades and what she is up to now after leaving the 6th form college.
“I now study broadcast media at the University of Sunderland, it was my first choice, I got D*D*D in my Media BTEC and am extremely proud of my achievements.”
Headteacher Jed, went on to say how proud he is of everyone for what they have achieved and how he wishes everyone the very best in their future endeavours.
St Mary’s College is increasing the amount of students due the the new facilities, taking full advantage to what they have the offer
